Little Leaguer Hits First Home Run In Front Of Biggest Fan

on

Sorry I haven’t been writing the past couple of days, if you haven’t seen on Twitter or Instagram, I have been interviewing former and current professional MLB players. I have done three interviews so far with Todd Jones, CJ Nitkowski and Geoff Hartlieb. All former or current players/coaches. If you haven’t seen them you can head to YouTube and type in Washed Up Athlete and they should pop up, or click on the link in my bio on social. When I take the days off from writing I’m preparing for or editing the interviews, but they’re definitely worth the wait. I’m able to get some really great insight from former and current players. This week I’ll be interviewing Milwaukee Brewers prospect, Nick Belzer, so make sure you check it out Thursday. I will definitely try to keep writing in between that.

So for today’s article I just wanted to give you a quick feel good video, there hasn’t been any big news in the sports world recently. The Jordan Documentary continues to be fantastic tv to watch, ESPN are going to start airing live KBO baseball games and the possibility of a 2020 is looking more and more realistic. Until then I will continue to bring you some great content and with that there’s no better content than a little leaguer hitting his first homerun. The only thing that could make it better is his Dad who is hyping him up and cheering as he epically bat flips and runs around the bases.

With the sad news of the Little League World Series being cancelled still fresh in a lot of people’s minds, here comes this kid who in full uniform is to taking hacks against his Dad. I’m not sure if we will see any little league baseball this year until it becomes safe for everyone involved. You can see the multiple hoops MLB is trying to jump through in order to play baseball this season. That’s not going to stop some kids who want to pretend like they are still playing a regular game on a summer day. If there are no games to hit your first home run, you make your own, right? The fact that there may be no baseball this year didn’t matter to that kid or the Dad who cheered him on every step of the way. Not only was this Dad there to see it but he got to embrace him in a full bear hug as he crossed home plate. Unfortunately, fathers may not get the moment this year to see their son or daughters first home run.

I remember my first home run and I’m sure my Dad was just as hype as I was to watch that ball sail over the wall. After all the hard work you put in and swings you have taken, it all led to this moment of pure perfection. This is a feeling many little leaguers may not get to enjoy this year, but it’s nice to see that some will still get to experience it. And how could you not love the energy from this Dad, I’m not sure who was more excited? The best hype man you could ask for. Proud Dad moment!
